The workshop
Every order starts as a measurement, not a box on a shelf
Nothing we sell exists before you order it. Your measurements go to the workshop floor at Unit C2, Carlinghow Mills, and the fabric is cut to that window and no other. Slats are sized individually, hems are weighted, and headrails are made up to the exact drop rather than trimmed on your carpet.
It is a slower way to run a blinds company than shipping standard sizes, and it is the reason a bay looks like one continuous run instead of three blinds that happen to be near each other.

The fitters
The person who installs it works for us
Most of the trade subcontracts fitting. We do not. Our fitters are directly employed and fully insured, which sounds like a small distinction until something needs adjusting eighteen months later — and the same company that made your blind is the company that comes back to it.
They arrive with dust sheets, they square the brackets to the window rather than the plaster, and they take the packaging away with them.

Do you make the blinds yourselves?
Yes. Every blind, curtain and shutter we sell is cut and finished to your measurements at our own workshop in Batley, West Yorkshire. Nothing is drop-shipped from a catalogue.
Who actually turns up to fit them?
Our own fitters. They are directly employed by Impress Blinds and fully insured, so the person who installs your blinds is the same company that made them — and the same company you come back to if anything needs adjusting.
Does the home appointment cost anything?
No. The appointment, the measuring and the written quote are all free, and there is no obligation to order at the end of it.
What does the guarantee cover?
Every blind, shutter and motor we fit carries a 5-year guarantee.
