Measure from your phone
Get a rough size for your window in about a minute
Photograph the window with a bank card on the sill, mark the corners, and we will work out roughly how wide and how far it drops. It is a good way to find out what you are dealing with before anyone comes round.
What this is not
It is not a substitute for a professional measure, and we will not make a blind to a number that came out of a photograph. Windows are rarely square, reveals are rarely plumb, and a few millimetres is the difference between a blind that runs sweetly and one that catches. Treat what comes out of this as a guide — your advisor measures properly, for free, before anything is ordered.
You will need a bank card
Or a sheet of A4. It sits on the sill and gives us something of a known size to scale from — every bank card in the world is the same 85.6 mm across.
One photo, taken square on
Stand facing the window rather than off to one side. We correct for a bit of angle, but the flatter the shot, the tighter the answer.
You get a range, not a number
Anyone who gives you a single figure from a photo is guessing with more confidence than the maths allows.
The photo never leaves your phone
Everything is worked out in your browser. We do not upload it, store it or send it anywhere.
Before you ask
What this tool can and cannot tell you
We would rather be straight about the limits than have you order a blind from a photograph.
- How accurate is it?
- Close enough to plan with, not close enough to order from. Standing square on to the window with the card clearly in shot, the estimate is usually within a few per cent — which is why we show you a range rather than a single figure. Every blind we make is cut to measurements taken by hand, on site.
- Why does it need a bank card?
- A photograph has no sense of scale on its own. A bank card is the most reliable ruler most people have to hand: every card in the world is made to the same international standard, 85.6 mm across the long edge. A sheet of A4 works just as well and is better on a large window.
- Does my photo get uploaded?
- No. The photograph is measured in your browser, on your own device. It is never sent to us, never stored and never seen by anyone. Close the page and it is gone.
- My camera will not open. Can I still use it?
- Yes. If the camera is blocked or unavailable, upload a photo from your phone instead — the rest of the tool works in exactly the same way.
- What happens at the free measure?
- An advisor comes to you with the full range of fabrics and finishes, measures every window precisely, talks through what suits the room and prices the job on the spot. There is no charge and no obligation to order.
